Columnist Rafael Behr van The Guardian schrijft over de rust die ontstaat als je offline gaat. Niet per se nieuwe inzichten, maar ik waardeer het dat mensen nieuwe manieren blijven vinden om het gevoel van verandering te beschrijven. Behr doet dat mooi: "The benefit isn’t immediate. The cacophony rings in your ears for a few days before you notice the stillness, the change in tempo. It is the difference between gliding on thermal currents of private thought and hurtling along rails, propelled by the burning urgency of other people’s opinions. The contrast is even starker in reverse, the roar of the tunnel as you go back to work, the jostle of notifications, the bowed head, scrolling the horizon away."

Gelezen op 404 Media, iets waar ik in geloof: "It is true that AI is changing the internet and is threatening journalists and media outlets. But the only AI-related business strategy that makes any sense whatsoever is one where media companies and journalists go to great pains to show their audiences that they are human beings, and that the work they are doing is worth supporting because it is human work that is vital to their audiences."

Paul Verhoeven is een levende legende. 87 jaar inmiddels, hoogbejaard en toch houdt hij die jongensachtige pretogen. Hij werkt aan een nieuwe film, Young Sinners, en bezoekt Frankrijk om promotie te doen rondom de vertaling van zijn biografie.
